The Marie Paxson Memorial Fund was established in 1967 by the Delaware Valley Music Club in memory of Marie Paxson, a local pianist and organist and a founding member of the Club.
The program/s are usually performed in selected Delaware Valley schools each December, when the performers at the DVMC Holiday Concert share music and chat with the school children earlier in the day. In August of 1974, the DVMC extended the Marie Paxson Memorial Fund to award annual cash prizes to winners of the Bucks County Symphony Youth Competition. In 1996, the DVMC began giving monetary awards to the youth soloists at our Young Performers Concert. This monetary assistance extends to the soloists and their accompanist.
The Marie Paxson Fund depends on donations from DVMC club members, guests, and audiences. We look to your generosity to help us continue these educational efforts through contributions to this Memorial Fund.
